The modern Olympics.

The modern Olympic Games or Olympics are leading international sporting events held in summer and winter in which thousands of athletes from around the world participate in a variety of competitions. The Olympic Games are considered the world's foremost sports competition with more than 200 nations participating. The Olympic Games are held every four years, with the Summer and Winter Games alternating by occurring every four years but two years apart.

How did it come?? 

This major event was inspired by the ancient Olympic Games, which were held in Olympia, Greece, from the 8th century BC to the 4th century AD. Baron Pierre de Coubertin a revolutionary man, founded the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in 1894, leading to the first modern Games in Athens in 1896. 

Ancient Olympics.

 

The Ancient Olympic Games were athletic festivals held every four years at the sanctuary of Zeus in Olympia, Greece. Competition was among the representatives of city-states and kingdoms.These Games featured mainly athletic but also combat sports such as wrestling. It has been widely written that during the Games, all conflicts among the participating city-states were postponed until the Games were finished.

Athens Olympics. 

The 1st olympics held in the Panathenaic Stadium in Athens brought together 14 nations and 241 athletes who competed in 43 events.

Effect of ''Tv'' 

 

The 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin were the first Games to be broadcast on television, though only to local audiences.The 1956 Winter Olympics were the first internationally televised Olympic Games, and the following Winter Games had their broadcasting rights sold for the first time to specialised television broadcasting networks—CBS paid US$394,000 for the American rights

Now because of television Olympics has reached to another level.

The latest Olympics were held in Rio De Janeiro.By 2016, the Olympic Games have been hosted by 44 cities in 23 countries, but by cities outside Europe and North America on only eight occasions. Since the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, South Korea, the Olympics have been held in Asia or Oceania four times, a sharp increase compared to the previous 92 years of modern Olympic history. The 2016 Games in Rio de Janeiro were the first Olympics for a South American country. No bids from countries in Africa have succeeded

Future location plans

 

Five cities have been chosen by the IOC to host upcoming Olympic Games: Pyeongchang for the 2018 Winter Olympics, Tokyo for the 2020 Summer Olympics, Beijing for the 2022 Winter Olympics, Paris for the 2024 Summer Olympics, and Los Angeles for the 2028 Summer Olympics.

The latest Olympics were held in Rio De Janeiro and were very successful. Also it will be successful in future too. At last it Olympics!!!
