e-cash, e-wallet, e-mails but e-rickshaw???????

1)Electric rickshaws have growth in their sale and are becoming public attraction in some cities since 2008 as an alternative to auto rickshaws and pulled rickshaws because of their low fuel cost, and less human effort compared to pulled rickshaws.
2)People choose e- rickshaws instead of rickshaws working on  petrol/diesel/CNG.
3)They are mostly made and used in India and China, only a few other countries manufacture these vehicles.

How's it made??

1)This 3 wheeled vehicle is made up of mild steel with tubular chassis.
2)These types of rickshaws present in INDIA are also made up of fiber due to its durability.
3)The solar panels fitted on the roof are 1.5 metres long and 1 metre wide.
4)The vehicle can attain a speed of 40 km and can run a minimum of 80 km with a six-hour charging from solar light.
5)The solar panels fitted on the roof of the three-wheeler will provide power, stored in a battery. The battery can be charged by electricity in the absence of solar power.

Working..

1)Solar energy can be used as the source to power the batteries of the vehicle, or there can be PV units powering the battery charging stations.
2)It is been estimated that approximately 600 MW power plants will be required to convert the existing 1 million auto rickshaws into the cleaner renewable energy transport systems.

Why 'soleckshaw'?

1)Actually it has the literal meaning of solar + rickshaws giving soleckshaws!
2)“Soleckshaws” are promoted by the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research in India.

Advantages>>>>>

  1. Noise Free – These electric rickshaws will be noise free and silent as compared to the normal autorickshaws.
  2. Pollution Free – Since the electric rickshaws will use solar energy to run, they will be non polluting and will cut the carbon dioxide emissions in contrary to the normal auto rickshaws.
  3. More Efficient – The solar powered rickshaws will use 40% less energy than petrol autorickshaw and hence will be more efficient.
  4. Battery Life – The solar powered rickshaw can run for ~60-70 kms after fully charged. According to a survey, auto rickshaws ply for 25-30 kms/ day in India.
  5. Battery Charging – The batteries of the solar powered rickshaws will need to be charged the whole night. Once charged it will meet the daily requirement of an average Indian rickshaw puller.
  6. Battery Replacement Costs – Will be reasonable, since the pricey petrol/ diesel, which is becoming increasingly unaffordable even by the rising middle classes in India.
  7. Increased Earnings – The rickshaw puller charges according to the number of kilometers run, since the electric rickshaws will be more efficient and run even longer, the rickshaw puller will eventually earn more.

Project pilot.

1) This project was mainly about the launching of solar rickshaws in major quantity in Bangalore, India.
2)This initiative was taken by Mr  Umesh Chandra, Director, RJMS-EV Pvt Ltd.
3)Company claims that the ElecRic will have Rs.1 as maintenance while normal rickshaws has Rs.5.
4)ElecRic can go 110 km with 5 hours of charge if batteries are charged fully one time.
5)These rickshaws were officially launched on 5 March 2016 in Bangalore, India.
6) These rickshaws are of just 2 lacs only.
7) This was the whole project Pilot.

So finally we end our article here with a positive initiative of project Pilot. Hope that these types of inventions continue coming. Hope you liked it. For more such articles subscribe to our website. Do leave a comment if possible.
